Naomh Padraig Residents’ Association welcomes participation and co-operation from all the residents to help organise community events, keep the estate well-maintained and in good order, and take care of any issues or problems which may arise,
All residents are encouraged to attend meetings during the year, which are normally held in the Enterprise Centre next door, to discuss estate business and plan events such as the Children’s Fun days, community picnics or fundraising initiatives. The Committee is elected each year at the AGM, and looks after the running of the Association. If you are interested in getting involved consider volunteering or nominating someone for the positions of Chairperson, Treasurer, and Secretary at the next AGM, or as extra committee members to help out as required.
Committee members also attend meetings of the Leitrim Residents’ Associations Network. Other interested residents are also welcome.
As an estate of 40 houses with an active Residents’ Association we are entitled to apply for an annual grant of €600 from Leitrim Co. Council, and this year it was paid to us in August 2012. The grant covers:
- Public Liability Insurance for the estate
- Petrol used by our community workers to maintain the grounds
- Petrol and servicing for the community power tools
- General enhancement of the estate grounds and facilities, eg. new plants for the flower beds
- Community activities and events
We currently have a petrol mower, strimmer and power washer available for hire by residents at a rate of €2 per item (towards petrol). The key to the tool shed can be obtained from members of the Committee on request. Petrol for the mower and two-stroke fuel for the strimmer are supplied. Please wear the safety helmet when using the strimmer, and report any issues wih the machines.
AGM 2012 – New Committee
At the AGM in June 2012:
- Eileen O’Toole ( No. 22) was elected as Chairperson
- Helen Witts (No. 32) was elected as Treasurer
There were no nominations for Secretary. We are very grateful to all those who attended the AGM, and especially for the support given by May McCrann, and the late Bertran Wolf. Also for the help given by Gary (no. 12) in keeping the mower maintained during the year.
